"Historical and Socioeconomic Inequalities, and the Evolution of African American Maternal Parenting Styles"

-Thesis Proposal-

As an undergraduate student in the UNC Charlotte University Honors Program, I researched and wrote a thesis proposal on African American maternal parenting styles. I also designed and led a six-week seminar for first-year students exploring family, race, and culture, combining my research with personal connections and real-world engagement. This experience strengthened my skills in communication, cultural humility, and interdisciplinary research.

"The Media Framing of Minority Women In Politics: The Intersection Of Gender & Race and Voter Perception"

-Research Proposal-

Throughout my undergraduate experience in the course "Communication Research Methods", I developed and wrote a research proposal focused on how mainstream media outlets frame minority women in politics, focusing on their race, gender, and leadership qualifications in comparison to their White female counterparts. Through this experience, I strengthened my research, writing, and analytical skills.
